Alex Mari Artist Talk: On their first survey exhibition at KODA

In this Artist Talk, Alex Mari discusses the in depth process of creating the 8 pieces selected for Our heads stuffed with lies, Her Belly Full of Ice including why they were selected and how and where they were performed. Often pulling from liminal disfiguration of time and space, Mari will give context to the imperativeness of slowing down to further challenge, disengage from, and obliterate harmful societal constructs. Mari will also give brief insight to their upcoming open studios performance and work in progress for KODA’s Borders + Boundaries residency examining transitional voids through sound and environment and the collapsing of time through durational art.
